The Tits Out Song: Branded

This sensitive little ditty is sung by Jobabe from Barnsley and is released by Power Station records.

Musical Style: Driving guitars, straighforward, power pop, strong female vocal, eminently beltable-out tune.

Over The Moon: Begins with a punning couplet - "No more brazil nutters, no more sour krauts....Let them eat their humble pies coz we gonna knock them out" - and manages to rhyme "Paraguay" with "Say Goodbye". Lyrics rest on the comprehensive listing of all the countries and many of the players' names, and, of course, in classic terrace style, the song is coarse through and through, mentioning "Tits" as often as possible. Jobabe looks nice in England strip. You have to wonder though... can't wait to see the video if it charts...

Sick As A Parrot: Doesn't build too much, and the endless chord rotation starts to grate by minute three. Not sure the song is in a sufficiently low register to suit the male fans.

Terrace Appeal: 6/10

Available on iTunes April 18th as a 79p download, 2 different versions.

Watching England Win Again: Gaylord Vincent

This toe-tapper is credited to The Rev Gaylord Vincent and the Sweet FA Choir, and is written (and possibly performed by) Keith Fradley and Yvonne Harrison.

Musical Style: Country guitar with a perky rhythm.

Over The Moon: Hilarious comedy name. Raising money for cancer. Maybe. It's a nice enough song. Inoffensive.

Sick As A Parrot: Billed as "The World Cup Song with a Difference" - the difference being, it sounds like a tune your american grandad would sing.

Terrace Appeal: 2/10

Available on http://www.tradebit.com as a 99p download.

England Football Songs World Cup 2006

This is a blog about just all the songs written in support of England for the FIFA World Cup 2006. There are many songs written and released to coincide with the biggest sporting event in the world, and we thought it would be a pity not to try and document the lot.

Please feel free to tell us about songs we've missed. The only criteria is that it must be an original 2006 version, which can be an original song, or an original treatment of an older song. Our own humble offering is here.

"Come on Engerland - we'll support you evermore!"
